Raven and Hummingbird Tea Co. is a Squamish nation-owned Indigenous herbal tea company. It is co-owned and run by mother daughter family business duo, Cease Wyss and Senaqwila Wyss. For 30+ years, T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss has been studying ethnobotany, indigenous plant use, and medicinal herbs, and in her learning, has raised her daughter Senaqwila with these teachings. Passing this knowledge to each generation is vital to their culture and health. With the newest generation, Senaqwila teachers her daughters, Kamaya, age 5, Lily, age 10, are already absorbing their traditional knowledge and use of the Squamish language in their upbringing as well.

Raven and Hummingbird Tea Co. has been well known for over 30+ years as a small scale cottage-business, and is well respected amongst the pow wow and craft fair circuits all across the lower mainland. Through the covid-19 pandemic they faced shortages in packaging and supplies, faced hardships among many small business owners during these trying times, but have returned to continue to sell their medicines as herbal teas, salves, tinctures, and more! Raven and Hummingbird Tea Co. also offers plant-based products such as handmade salves, tinctures, beeswax candles, and pure raw honey from their beehives in the community garden. They harvest their plants seasonally, trade with neighbouring communities, and on occasion bulk order select herbs from local organic supplies.
